Off-duty NYPD school safety agent arrested for forcible touching in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — An off-duty New York City Police Department school safety agent was arrested Friday morning in Williamsburg on multiple misdemeanor charges, including forcible touching and sexual abuse, according to police officials.

Julian O. Walker, 23, was taken into custody at approximately 8:15 a.m. within the confines of the 90th Precinct. He faces charges of forcible touching, sexual abuse in the third degree, and two counts of second-degree harassment. Details regarding the alleged incident that led to Walker’s arrest were not immediately released.

Walker is employed as a school safety agent with the NYPD, a civilian position responsible for providing security in New York City public schools. It was not immediately clear whether the charges were connected to his role or occurred while he was off-duty in a personal capacity.

The NYPD has not released a statement regarding Walker’s current employment status or whether he has been suspended following the arrest. The department’s Internal Affairs Bureau typically reviews cases involving employee misconduct or criminal allegations.

The investigation is ongoing, and Walker is expected to face arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court.
