A routine patrol turned into a shooting investigation after officers followed the sound of gunfire and discovered a victim nearby
BALTIMORE, Md. — What began as a routine patrol in North Baltimore quickly escalated Sunday evening when officers heard gunfire and launched a search that led them to a wounded man, police said.
Baltimore Police said Northern District officers were on patrol at approximately 7:25 p.m. when they heard shots being fired in the 4400 block of Park Heights Avenue.
As officers canvassed the area, they located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Police have not released the victim’s age, condition, or additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
No arrests have been announced.
Northern District detectives are investigating the incident.
