Newark woman wins $25K a year for life on Lucky for Life ticket

NEWARK, OH – A Newark woman is now guaranteed $25,000 a year for life after hitting the second-tier prize in the Lucky for Life lottery game with a ticket she purchased in December at a Heath tobacco shop.

She matched five numbers—8, 23, 32, 33, and 34—in the December 14 drawing, narrowly missing the top prize by just one number, the Lucky Ball 15. Even without hitting the Lucky Ball, the match earned her the game’s second-best prize: $25,000 annually for life.

The winning ticket was purchased at Discount Tobacco Shop, located at 1002-B Hebron Road in Heath. According to the Ohio Lottery, the winner will receive $18,522.64 per year after mandatory state and federal tax withholding of 26.75%. The prize is guaranteed for a minimum of 20 years.

Lucky for Life is a $2 multi-state draw game offering a top prize of $1,000 a day for life and a second-tier prize of $25,000 a year for life. Drawings are held nightly at approximately 10:35 p.m. Eastern Time. The odds of winning the $25,000 a year for life prize are 1 in 1,813,028.
