Parking dispute escalates into armed arrest in Odenton

Odenton, MD – A disagreement over a parking spot escalated into a weapons arrest after a man returned to a neighborhood street with a handgun following a physical altercation.

The incident occurred Sunday around 8:20 p.m. near Berger Street and Annapolis Road. Investigators determined that a fight broke out between two individuals over parking before one man left, retrieved a handgun from his residence, and returned to the scene.

The victim reported the weapon was not pointed at him. Officers later met the suspect at his home and determined he was prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.

An unserialized polymer handgun loaded with 12 rounds in a high-capacity magazine was seized. The suspect, Michael Richard Ourand, 41, of Odenton, was arrested and charged.
