Police seek suspect who attacked 70-year-old man near Lexington Avenue

MANHATTAN, NY – The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying a man wanted in connection with a violent assault on a 70-year-old victim last February in the Gramercy Park area.

According to police, the incident happened around 8:27 p.m. on February 13, 2025, near East 22nd Street and Lexington Avenue. Investigators say the suspect got into a verbal dispute with the victim before punching him in the face, putting him in a headlock, and throwing him to the ground. The attacker fled the scene immediately after the assault.

Authorities have not released a description of the suspect but said the investigation remains active. The victim sustained injuries from the attack but is expected to recover.
