Reisterstown liquor store sells $50K Pick 5 ticket to lucky retiree

OWINGS MILLS, MD. — A retired construction supervisor from Baltimore County is celebrating a $50,000 Pick 5 win after a last-minute decision to purchase a ticket at One Stop Liquors & Wine in Reisterstown.

The winner, who plays the Lottery occasionally, was running an errand on Dec. 23 when he saw the store and decided to stop in. He purchased a $1 straight Pick 5 ticket, selecting numbers that didn’t hold personal significance but “felt right” to him.

His decision paid off in the Dec. 28 midday drawing when the ticket matched all five numbers, earning him the game’s $50,000 top prize. The winner said he was initially in disbelief but called the experience “exciting.”

The retailer, located at 11700 Reisterstown Road, will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
