Highway confrontation escalates with gun and ends in arrest

Felton, DE — A morning drive turned into a felony arrest after a road rage confrontation involving a firearm led to a traffic stop and weapons seizure in Kent County.

Jeffrey Neifert, 38, of New Ringgold, Pennsylvania, was taken into custody April 20 after Delaware State Police responded to reports of a road rage incident along South Dupont Highway near Killens Pond Road.

Authorities said the incident began earlier near Irish Hill Road, where Neifert allegedly displayed a handgun during a confrontation with another driver.

He was arrested without incident and transported to Troop 3, where he was charged with multiple felony offenses, including possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and aggravated menacing.
