Second suspect arrested in Bear shopping center armed robbery case

BEAR, DE – Delaware State Police have arrested a second suspect in connection with a May 2025 armed robbery that took place in the parking lot of the Salem Center shopping plaza on Pulaski Highway, authorities announced Thursday.

The newly arrested suspect, Daviel Aviles, 20, of Middletown, turned himself in to troopers at Delaware State Police Troop 2 on February 19. Investigators had been searching for Aviles since last year, when he and another suspect were identified in connection with the daylight robbery.

According to police, the incident occurred around 2:15 p.m. on May 19, 2025, when the victim got into an argument with a suspect in the parking lot of Salem Center. A second suspect then approached and displayed a handgun. Working together, the pair stole the victim’s vehicle and fled the area.
