BB gun dispute leads to charges after shots fired strike vehicle in Albemarle County
Albemarle County, VA — A confrontation between two individuals escalated into gunfire that struck a vehicle, but investigators later determined the initial weapon displayed was a BB gun, leading to misdemeanor charges.
The incident occurred March 18 during a verbal altercation between two parties. Authorities said one individual displayed what appeared to be a firearm, prompting the other person to draw a weapon and fire multiple shots.
The gunfire struck a vehicle, though no injuries were reported.
Following an investigation, detectives determined the object initially displayed was a dark-colored BB gun, which was later recovered nearby.
