Police said the altercation began around 1:20 p.m. when a 45-year-old man became involved in an argument with a 21-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman over a parking spot cleared during the storm. The argument escalated as tempers flared, turning into a physical fight between the older man and the younger offender.

During the struggle, the victim allegedly produced a knife, while the 21-year-old man pulled a legally owned handgun. Both men reportedly set their weapons aside and continued fighting as tensions boiled over.

Investigators said the situation took another turn when the 36-year-old woman retrieved the handgun from a nearby vehicle, struck the victim in the head, and fired a shot into the ground. Officers arriving on the scene found the victim bleeding from a head wound, initially believing he had been shot.

The man was taken by police to Temple Hospital, where doctors confirmed he had not suffered a gunshot wound but had been pistol-whipped. Both suspects were arrested at the scene, and all weapons were recovered as detectives from the East Division continue their investigation.
