Snow bank dispute leaves two hurt and one arrested
Boston, MA – A bitter overnight dispute over a snow-cleared parking spot spiraled into violence, leaving two people bleeding in the street and a Dorchester man under arrest on a serious knife charge.
The stabbing occurred early Wednesday around 1:25 a.m. in the area of 59 Evans Street, where officers responding to a report of a person stabbed found a chaotic scene. Three individuals were standing on the sidewalk, and two of them—a 41-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman—were suffering from heavy bleeding to their hands. Blood was visible on the sidewalk, walkway, and nearby snowbanks.
Officers detained the third individual, later identified as 47-year-old Enel Javier of Dorchester, while rendering aid to the injured victims. Boston EMS transported both victims to local hospitals for treatment.
Investigators determined the violence stemmed from a parking dispute following the recent winter storm. Police said the male victim arrived at the location and saw Javier’s vehicle parked in a space he believed he had personally shoveled out. A confrontation followed and quickly escalated.
During the altercation, Javier allegedly stabbed the male victim in the hand with a knife. The female victim was injured while attempting to intervene and disarm him, police said.
Javier was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury.
