Lottery luck lands $1M prize in Staten Island
STATEN ISLAND, NY – A Richmond County resident has claimed a $1 million top prize on a New York Lottery scratch-off game after purchasing a winning ticket on Staten Island.
Mary Ann Monaco scored the life-changing win on the $1,000,000 Gold ticket, which she purchased at Card Corner II, located at 655 Rossville Avenue. She opted to receive her prize as a single lump sum, which totaled $410,202 after required tax withholdings.
The popular $10 scratch-off still has two $1 million top prizes remaining, according to the latest data from the New York Lottery. The status of all scratch-off games is available through the Game Report at nylottery.ny.gov.
New York Lottery scratch-off games generated over $4.3 billion in sales during the last fiscal year. From that, school districts throughout the five boroughs received more than $1.4 billion in Lottery Aid to Education funds.
