Suspicious vehicle tip leads to fentanyl trafficking arrest in Cowee

Suspicious vehicle stop in Cowee leads to fentanyl trafficking arrest and 350000 bond

Macon County, NC – A suspicious vehicle call in the Cowee community led deputies to seize approximately 6.5 grams of suspected fentanyl and arrest the driver on multiple drug trafficking charges Monday.

Deputies responded February 16 to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Cowee area. When they approached the vehicle, they identified the driver as Hagen Devin Henderson.

An investigation at the scene resulted in the seizure of approximately 6.5 grams of suspected fentanyl, along with various Schedule IV prescription drugs, according to the Macon County Sheriff’s Office.

Henderson was charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver fentanyl, two counts of possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver a Schedule IV controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle dwelling or place for controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bond was set at $350,000 secured.

The case remains under investigation.

A call about a suspicious vehicle has now turned into a major fentanyl trafficking case in Macon County.
