At approximately 11:46 PM, three victims disembarked from an Uber on the 1700 block of N. High Street. During this time, one suspect attempted to communicate with a female victim, subsequently throwing an object at her and shouting. Another victim who intervened faced physical assault from the four suspects, resulting in him being punched and kicked until he collapsed.

Property was forcibly removed from the victims, with one victim’s belongings being kicked down the sidewalk. Another victim sustained a head injury, allegedly from a tire iron attack, while trying to intervene. The injured parties were later transported to OSU Hospital with serious head lacerations.

The incident occurred on Friday, March 11, 2022, at around 12:05 a.m. Peterson was operating a 2004 Ford F150 pickup westbound on Route 33, west of the Colts Neck Road intersection, when it crossed the centerline and sideswiped a 2004 Kia Rio. Continuing in the wrong direction, the pickup then struck head-on with a 2010 Dodge Challenger driven by Robert C. Johnson, 50, of Neptune Township.
