**Boston, MA** – On Wednesday, at approximately 12:45 PM, officers from District E-5 (West Roxbury) arrested Brendan Donovan, 45, of South Boston, on multiple firearm-related charges.

A detective on patrol observed a person on a scooter, who was carrying a duffel bag, run a red light in the area of Centre Street and Lorette Street. The scooter continued onto the sidewalk towards Temple Street and parked at 7 Spring Street.

The detective also noticed two masked individuals walking from the same location and tracked them as they met Donovan behind an unoccupied van in a parking lot. The detective and a beat officer approached the group, whereupon a firearm was seen in Donovan’s waistband; it was later identified as a less lethal CO2 firearm.

Additional officers arrived, removed Donovan from the scooter, and checked the duffle bag, discovering an AR-15 Camouflage Assault Rifle and a bag of Fentanyl. Donovan was arrested and will face several charges in West Roxbury District Court, including unlawful firearm possession and possession of class A substances.

The operation followed community complaints about drug activities and the illicit sale of unstamped cigarettes affecting local businesses. Acting on the intelligence gathered, officers from the B-2 unit performed targeted patrols to address these issues.

On Friday around 11:00 AM, officers observed Forty-Four engaged in several hand-to-hand transactions from his vehicle, which led to individuals leaving with illegal Newport cigarettes. Surveillance continued into Saturday around noon, where officers spotted similar actions.

Upon contacting Forty-Four, he resisted arrest but was quickly subdued. A search of his vehicle uncovered cash, unstamped cigarettes, bags of marijuana, and a loaded 9mm firearm. Forty-Four is set for arraignment in Dorchester District Court facing charges including drug possession, unlawful possession of a large-capacity firearm, and other related offenses.

**Delmar, MD -** An incident involving a firearm occurred on December 12, leading to severe allegations against a suspect in Delmar, Wicomico County. Deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division responded to the situation at the 28000 Block of Waller Rd.

A victim claimed that during an argument, 45-year-old Richard Lee Luffman brandished a firearm and threatened harm. The victim reported being forced into a closet, while another individual was locked in a separate room. There was also a threat to the residents’ lives, resulting in minor injuries to one victim during the ordeal.

Luffman was later located by the Delaware State Police in Seaford, Delaware. Held by the Delaware Department of Corrections, he waived extradition and will be returned to Wicomico County. He faces charges of Second Degree Assault, two counts of False Imprisonment, and carrying a Handgun on a person.
