Columbus Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Suspects in Robbery and Assault

**Columbus, OH** – The Columbus Division of Police is seeking assistance from the public to identify four individuals captured in images connected to a robbery and assault incident that took place on Thursday, October 17.

At approximately 11:46 PM, three victims disembarked from an Uber on the 1700 block of N. High Street. During this time, one suspect attempted to communicate with a female victim, subsequently throwing an object at her and shouting. Another victim who intervened faced physical assault from the four suspects, resulting in him being punched and kicked until he collapsed.

Property was forcibly removed from the victims, with one victim’s belongings being kicked down the sidewalk. Another victim sustained a head injury, allegedly from a tire iron attack, while trying to intervene. The injured parties were later transported to OSU Hospital with serious head lacerations.

Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for tips leading to the suspects’ arrest or indictment. Tips can be submitted anonymously by contacting Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at (614) 461-TIPS (8477).

**Akron, OH** – The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) has arrested Khairi Moorer, 23, Derek Edwards, 19, and Robert Davis, 19. The three were wanted by the Akron Police Department for aggravated murder.

Police initially responded to a single car crash on November 7 at the intersection of South Main Street and West Miller Avenue. Jamar E. Franklin, 29, was found within the vehicle with a gunshot wound and later died at the hospital. Investigations revealed Franklin was shot while in his vehicle at a parking lot on West Long Street.

Authorities issued warrants for Moorer, Edwards, and Davis following the incident. On Thursday, Khairi Moorer was arrested on Ido Ave., and the following morning, Derek Edwards and Robert Davis were apprehended on Kling St.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott commented that the arrests were due to the diligent work of the Akron Police Department. The collaboration between the task force and Akron Police facilitated the rapid detainment of these individuals.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:55 a.m. on the 200 block of Park Avenue near 6th Street. A man waiting for a taxi was accosted by three individuals who stole his necklace, took $400 cash, and physically assaulted him before absconding northbound on North 6th Street.

Detectives have described the suspects as three Black males. Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda has called for anyone with relevant information to reach out.

**Richmond, VA** – On Thursday at approximately 5:15 p.m., four individuals entered a business in Richmond, where one suspect began stealing merchandise.

The suspect was identified by their attire: a black jacket, blue hoodie, dark jeans, blue and white shoes, and a black skull cap. The individual claimed to have a gun when confronted by an employee.

Another suspect was reported wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and black and gray shoes, with a handgun visible in their waistband.

Harford County Sheriff’s Office Apprehends Suspects in Theft Attempt

**Joppatowne, MD** – The Harford County Sheriff’s Office announced the charging of two individuals following an attempted theft and assault incident. The event occurred on Thursday at approximately 12:08 a.m. at the Royal Farms store on Joppa Farm Road.

During a routine patrol, a deputy was alerted by store employees about an ongoing robbery, which was later clarified as theft. Inside the store, the deputy encountered two suspects attempting to steal cigarettes behind the counter. Commands issued to the suspects were ignored, resulting in a physical altercation.

One suspect fled the scene, while the other, Justin Corey Cotten, 25, from Reisterstown, assaulted the deputy and escaped on foot. The deputy sustained minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital. Cotten was apprehended later that evening with help from the HCSO K9 unit and the Maryland State Police Aviation Command.

Cotten faces charges including attempted theft and assault on a deputy and is being held without bond at the Harford County Detention Center. The second suspect has been identified, with charges filed and handed to the HCSO Warrant Apprehension Unit. The investigation continues
