PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit is seeking three suspects involved in the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old male on Saturday night in the city’s Fairmount neighborhood.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:38 p.m. on the 1200 block of Fairmount Avenue. According to investigators, three suspects arrived at the scene in a silver Dodge Nitro SUV and fired a total of 25 shots at a group of people, including the victim. All three suspects then fled the area in the same vehicle.
Police revealed that the Dodge Nitro was stolen around 30 days prior to the incident. After the shooting, the suspects abandoned the vehicle near the intersection of 16th and Thompson streets, where a dark-colored Ford Taurus was waiting to pick them up.
Authorities are now seeking information about any group or individuals known to have been using a silver Dodge Nitro in the weeks leading up to the shooting, as well as any connections to the dark-colored Ford Taurus seen at the scene. The Homicide Unit is actively working to identify the three suspects, depicted in surveillance video released by police.
No arrests have been made, and police are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
