18-year-old dies weeks after triple shooting on Hiawatha Road in Mattapan

Boston, MA – A triple shooting in Mattapan last month has now turned deadly, as Boston Police confirmed Friday that one of the victims—an 18-year-old woman—has died from her injuries nearly four weeks after the attack.

Officers from District B-3 responded to reports of gunfire and a ShotSpotter activation around 1:24 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, in the area of 2 Hiawatha Road. Upon arrival, three people were found suffering from gunshot wounds and were transported by Boston EMS to area hospitals.

While the two adult male victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries, the third victim, identified as 18-year-old G’Kiyah Lewis of Malden, remained in critical condition for weeks before being pronounced dead on Friday, November 7.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. The Boston Police Department Homicide Unit continues to investigate, urging anyone with information to come forward. The motive behind the shooting and whether the victims were targeted remains unclear.

As the investigation intensifies, police are encouraging the public to anonymously submit tips by phone, text, or online. Community members can also submit any photos or video related to the shooting through CrimeStoppers.

Support services are available for residents impacted by the violence through the Boston Neighborhood Trauma Team, which provides free and confidential 24/7 emotional assistance.
