The family of William Valadez Ramirez, who died in a mud bog racing incident, has filed a $60 million lawsuit citing inadequate security and dangerous conditions. The trial is scheduled to begin on Monday in El Paso County.The accident occurred on June 14, 2021, near Fabens, south of El Paso, when a dragster lost control and crashed into spectators. Alongside Ramirez’s family, two teachers and a minor, who were also injured, are plaintiffs in the case.Francisco Valadez Jr., Ramirez’s brother, shared his grief with El Paso’s NBC affiliate KTSM, emphasizing the profound impact of the loss on their family life, including the cessation of Christmas celebrations.Attorney Kevin Glasheen representing the family, criticized the event’s organization, describing it as a poorly planned amateur event. The lawsuit aims to hold the responsible parties accountable for the fatal incident and its consequences.
