Third suspect arrested in June shooting near Slaughter Beach fire company

MILFORD, DE — Delaware State Police have arrested a third suspect in connection with a June shooting near the Slaughter Beach Memorial Volunteer Fire Company that left one man injured.

Deonte King, 21, of Lincoln, turned himself in on July 17 and was charged with multiple felony offenses stemming from the June 12 incident. According to police, several masked individuals opened fire at a party being held at a public pavilion behind the fire company around 7:14 p.m.

A 32-year-old man from Dover was struck in the lower extremity while attempting to flee. He was transported to a hospital, treated, and later released.

Investigators identified King, along with previously named suspects Tyree Johnson and Tymere Harmon, as individuals involved in the shooting. The suspects reportedly fled the scene in a light-colored Honda Accord with Delaware plates.

King was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $234,500 cash bond.
