BALTIMORE, Md. — Two male juveniles were arrested Thursday in connection with an armed carjacking that occurred earlier in the day in Baltimore’s Northwest District, police said.
The incident happened around 3:40 a.m. in the 3900 block of Fernhill Avenue. Officers responding to the scene learned that a 46-year-old man had been approached by three suspects who carjacked him at gunpoint.
Descriptions of the suspects and the stolen vehicle were circulated to patrol officers citywide.
At approximately 8:45 p.m., members of the Eastern District Action Team located the stolen vehicle at Guilford Avenue and East Baltimore Street. As officers approached, the occupants fled on foot.
Following a brief pursuit, police arrested a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old male. A third suspect has not yet been located.
One teen charged as adult in Baltimore carjacking case
The 16-year-old was taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility and charged as an adult with armed carjacking and armed robbery, according to police.
The 15-year-old was transported to the Juvenile Justice Center and charged with the same offenses.
Police have not released the names of the suspects due to their age and have not indicated whether any weapons were recovered at the scene.
An investigation is ongoing into the identity and whereabouts of the third individual reportedly involved in the carjacking.
