Two men injured in separate stabbing and shooting incidents in Harford County, deputies say

Aberdeen, MD — A 19-year-old man was stabbed during a fight in Aberdeen and a 44-year-old man was shot minutes later in Joppa in two unrelated incidents Tuesday evening, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office confirmed detectives are actively investigating both cases, which occurred just minutes apart on April 14, and say there is no indication the incidents are connected.

Stabbing reported during altercation in Aberdeen

The first incident unfolded around 6:13 p.m. in the 200 block of Mayberry Drive in Aberdeen, where deputies responded to reports of a fight involving knives.

When deputies arrived, they found a 19-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to his leg. Emergency Medical Services transported him to a local hospital, where detectives later interviewed him.

Investigators believe the stabbing occurred during a physical altercation involving individuals known to the victim. Authorities said the man is expected to survive his injuries.

Shooting victim arrives at hospital shortly after

Just minutes later, around 6:15 p.m., deputies were called to a local hospital after a gunshot victim arrived seeking treatment.

The victim, identified as a 44-year-old man, told detectives he had been in the 1000 block of Plaza Circle in Joppa when he was shot by an unknown male following a brief interaction.

The man was struck in his lower body and has since been released from the hospital, according to the sheriff’s office.
