Washington, D.C. – Authorities have arrested two suspects involved in an armed carjacking incident in Northeast, D.C.
On Friday, October 4, at approximately 1:45 a.m., the victim was walking to his vehicle in the 5200 block of Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue, Northeast, when two armed suspects approached him. The suspects demanded the victim’s vehicle keys and property at gunpoint. The victim complied, and the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.
Later that day, at approximately 4:11 p.m., U.S. Capitol Police located the stolen vehicle and the two suspects in the 2400 block of East Capitol Street, Southeast. Both suspects were arrested, and a firearm was recovered.
Twenty-year-old Taurian Anderson of Southeast, D.C., was charged with Armed Carjacking, Carrying a Pistol Without a License, Armed Robbery, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Reckless Driving, and Fleeing a Law Enforcement Officer.
Eighteen-year-old Terrell Edmondson of Northeast, D.C., was charged with Armed Carjacking and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle.
The D.C. Metro Police Department thanked the United States Capitol Police for their partnership and assistance with the case.
