Wellsville man charged with sex offender registry violation

WELLSVILLE, N.Y. – A 29-year-old Wellsville man was arrested Sunday after allegedly failing to meet state reporting requirements under New York’s Sex Offender Registration Act, police said.

Officers charged James M. Lee with a felony count of Sex Offender Registry Violation for not updating his address every 90 days as required for a Level 3 sex offender.

Court proceedings ahead

Lee was processed by Wellsville Police and taken to the Allegany County Jail to await arraignment in CAP Court. He is scheduled to appear in Wellsville Village Court at a later date.
