Willingboro double murder conviction: Pennsylvania man found guilty in home invasion killings

A jury has convicted a Pennsylvania man in the fatal shooting of a mother and daughter inside their Willingboro home, closing a case that began with a pre-dawn break-in.

Willingboro, NJ – A Pennsylvania man has been found guilty of murdering two women during a home invasion in Burlington County, prosecutors announced following a jury verdict this week.

Junior Edwards, 39, of Lansdowne, was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder along with multiple related weapons and burglary charges in connection with the October 2024 killings of Catherine Nunez, 33, and her mother, Marisol Nunez, 54.

The verdict came after approximately six hours of jury deliberation over two days. Sentencing is scheduled for May 22 before Superior Court Judge Aimee Belgard in Mount Holly.

Early morning break-in led to fatal shootings

The investigation began just after 4 a.m. on October 30, 2024, when Willingboro Township police responded to a reported burglary in progress on Harrington Circle. Officers entering the home discovered both victims dead in an upstairs bedroom.

Investigators determined the suspect entered through a smashed first-floor window before carrying out the shootings. Autopsies later confirmed both women died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Child present during attack, multi-agency investigation

Authorities said an 8-year-old child, who is related to Edwards and Catherine Nunez, was inside the home at the time but was not physically harmed.

The case was prosecuted by the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office, with assistance from multiple agencies including the FBI’s Trenton Greater Safe Streets Task Force, Lansdowne Police Department, and the Philadelphia Police Department.

Edwards was convicted of first-degree murder, armed home invasion burglary, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and endangering the welfare of a child.
