Police allege a Cumberland woman and a man repeatedly punched a victim after a verbal confrontation.
CUMBERLAND, Md. — A Cumberland woman is facing assault and disorderly conduct charges after police say she knocked a person to the ground during an altercation before continuing the assault with another individual.
According to the Cumberland Police Department, officers served a criminal summons Thursday on 33-year-old Denisha Jonette Loving-Croft.
Police allege the victim reported that Loving-Croft and an unidentified man approached them and initiated a verbal altercation.
Investigators said the victim told police Loving-Croft struck them in the face, causing them to fall to the ground. The victim further alleged that Loving-Croft and the man then continued punching them while they were on the ground.
Loving-Croft was charged with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct.
She was released pending trial.
The charges are allegations, and Loving-Croft is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
