A 19-year-old man was critically injured after being shot and crashing his vehicle into a parked car on a residential street in Winslow Township, authorities said.
Detectives are investigating a late-night shooting in Winslow Township that left a 19-year-old man hospitalized in critical condition after his vehicle struck a parked car.
The shooting was reported at approximately 9:59 p.m. Wednesday on Locust Court, according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Winslow Township Police Chief Donald Lemons.
Victim found inside crashed vehicle
Officers with the Winslow Township Police Department responded to the neighborhood after receiving reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 19-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound inside a vehicle that had crashed into an unoccupied parked car on Locust Court.
“Upon arrival, officers located a gunshot victim – a 19-year-old male – inside a car that crashed into an unoccupied vehicle parked on Locust Court,” authorities said.
The victim was transported to Cooper University Hospital for treatment.
Victim remains in critical condition
Investigators said the victim was listed in critical but stable condition following the shooting.
Officials have not released the circumstances surrounding the incident, including where the shooting occurred or whether the victim was targeted.
No arrests have been announced.
Detectives seeking information
The investigation is being conducted by the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Winslow Township Police Department.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.
