Johnson City man busted for drug, weapon charges

JOHNSON CITY, NY – The Johnson City Police Department arrested Haven M. Strong, age 20, of Johnson City for drug and gun possession charges.

On December 2, 2020 at 7:20pm, members of the Community Action Team stopped Strong for riding a bicycle on the sidewalk in the downtown area which is in violation of the Village Code. Strong became agitated and kept putting his hands in his pockets. Officers could hear something metal clinking around in the front pocket of his hoodie. When asked what it was Strong pulled out a set of brass knuckles. Strong then became more agitated and began moving away from officers, and when officers tried to take him into custody, he began struggling with officers.

Once in custody 26 small packages containing methamphetamine with a total weight of 9.1 grams were located on his person. Strong was taken to Central Arraignment where he was arraigned on the above listed crimes.
