Cumberland Crime Report: Bench Warrants Served

CUMBERLAND, MD – The Cumberland County Police Department has released a list of bench warrants served by the department on April 7th. These items are provided as-is and unedited as published by the department.

On Thursday, April 7, 2022, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Joshua Michael Smith. The warrant was issued as a result of Smith failing to comply with an order of the court. Smith was originally charged with 2 counts of CDS: Possess-Not Marijuana, CDS: Possess Paraphernalia, CDS: Admin Equip. Smith was later taken before a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Detention Center, held without bond.

On Thursday, April 7, 2022, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Matthew Washington. The warrant was issued as a result of Washington failing to comply with an order of the court. Washington was originally charged with Assault-2nd Degree. Washington was later taken before a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Detention Center, held without bond.

On Thursday, April 7, 2022, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Anthony Vassallo. The warrant was issued as a result of Vassallo violating his probation. Vassallo was originally charged with a DUI offense. Vassallo was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and held on $500.

On Thursday, April 7, 2022, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Ashley Dashiell. The warrant was issued as a result of Dashiell failing to appear for her court case on March 25, 2022. Dashiell was originally charged with Trespassing on Posted Property. Dashiell was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and held on $250.

On Thursday, April 7, 2022, the Cumberland Police Department served three bench warrants on Daniel Izat. One warrant was issued as a result of Izat violating his probation. The other warrants were issued as a result of Izat failing to appear for his court cases. Izat was originally charged with Disorderly Conduct, Fail to Obey a Lawful Order, and Trespassing on Posted Property. Izat was later taken before a District Court Commissioner and held on a temporary commitment.
