Suspect Wanted for Apartment Burglary, Vandalism Arrested

UTICA, NY – The Utica Police Department has announced the arrest of a 20-year-old man for breaking into an apartment and damaging the residence.

Police said, on Sunday, at about 1:30 AM officers were dispatched to a burglary complaint occurring at a residence on Andes Ave.

“The victim stated that a male suspect illegally entered the residence and had damaged the apartment and broke numerous items as well. The individual and his actions were captured by surveillance video within the home,” the department said. “Upon the Police arrival the male had fled the scene and was not located that evening.”

Upon positive identification, an investigator with the Criminal Investigations Division filed charges for a warrant, and on April 13th, warrants were issued against Jaquel Jones, age 20, of Utica, for Burglary in the second degree.

Jones is currently a fugitive.
