Front Door of Columbus House Struck by Gunfire in Driveby Shooting

COLUMBUS, OH – On Monday, at 6:55 pm CPD dispatchers received a shotspotter alert indicating there were 3 rounds fired in the alley near the 1100 block of Oakwood Ave.

Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the homeowner who advised their home had been struck by a bullet. The bullet struck the front door but did not penetrate through. Officers observed two casings on Siebert St northeast of the victim’s residence in the roadway.

A neighbor provided ring doorbell video of the incident.

The video shows a newer model Jeep Cherokee traveling southbound on Wilson Ave. As the vehicle approaches Siebert St, the vehicle slows to a stop, though there is no stop sign. As the vehicles creeps towards Siebert St, you hear three gun shots and the vehicle travels southbound on Wilson Ave at a high rate of speed.
