Lacey Police Make Arrest After Finding DUI Driver Slumped Over in Car

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ – On Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 12:26 a.m., Officer Hyle observed a vehicle parked on Sandy Hook Drive with the driver slumped over the wheel and the engine running. Officer Hyle approached the driver, Kenneth Novak (32), of 711 Buena Vista Road, and observed wax folds (heroin) on the driver’s lap.  

Investigation at the scene revealed that Kenneth was under the influence. Kenneth was arrested for driving while intoxicated and possession of CDS.  Kenneth was transported to headquarters where he was processed.  Kenneth was charged with with multiple motor vehicle offenses including DWI, reckless driving, CDS in a motor vehicle, and prohibited parking.

 Kenneth was also charged with possession of CDS, being under the influence, and possession of certain prescription drugs on a criminal complaint summons.  Kenneth was served with all applicable paperwork and released in accordance to John’s Law.
