Newark police seeking public’s help to identify burglary suspect

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a weekend burglary suspsect.

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured male suspect in connection with a business burglary that occurred today, August 28, 2022.

“At approximately 2:10 a.m., the suspect entered the Tridos Peri Peri Chicken Restaurant, located at 98 Halsey Street,” Frage said. “He removed a lock cylinder from the side entrance door, entered the restaurant, and stole two cash register drawers containing $100.00 each, before fleeing towards Broad Street.”

Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in identifying this suspect as part of their investigation. He is described as 6-ft. tall with a dark complexion and beard, wearing all black clothing, white Adidas sneakers, and a wave cap.
