NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department has announced that a five-year-old boy was struck and killed by a truck making a left turn onto 100th Street in Queens. The boy was struck while walking across the street as a white pickup truck attempted to make a left turn striking the boy and killing him.
Jonathan Isaac Martinez, was transported to Elmhurst Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The boy was walking across the street with his parents. His parents were not injured in the crash.
The suspect was driving a white pickup truck and fled the scene of the crash before police arrived.
The truck involved in the crash was a white 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup.
According to police investigating the incident, no suspects or motives have been announced at this time. No arrests have been made.
