Utica Police investigating burglary at coffee shop

UTICA, NY – the Utica Police Department announced that a man suspected of burglarizing a coffee shop on Tuesday at around 8:50 p.m. has been arrested and charged.

Utica police officers arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation.

“Upon arrival the officers did not locate anyone inside, but did notice that the door was ajar and could be opened,” police said. “Upon reviewing surveillance footage it was witnessed that a male had been inside the shop and taken cash and other items and then left.”

Officers conducted an area check and soon located the suspect a short distance away. He was detained without incident and transported to the Utica Police Department.

Once there an investigator with the Criminal Investigations Division charged Louis Abraham age 69 of Utica with Burglary in the third degree and Petit Larceny.
