Germantown Liquor Store Robbed at Gunpoint

GERMANTOWN, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Friday, September 9, 2022, at the Wisteria Beer and Wine located in the 13000 block of Wisteria Drive. Detectives have released surveillance video and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., 5th District officers responded to the location for the report of an armed robbery.

The investigation by detectives has determined that an unknown male suspect entered the store and walked behind the cash counter, reaching around the employee to open the cash register. The suspect then pointed a gun at the employee’s neck and demanded that he open the cash registers. The employee complied with the suspects demands. The suspect removed the cash from both registers. A customer attempted to leave the store and the suspect redirected the gun to him, telling him not to move. The suspect then demanded Newport cigarettes, prior to leaving the store.

The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 20-years-old, with an average build. He is approximately 5-feet, 10-inches to 6-feet tall. He has long back braids or locs with a metallic gold cuff on the right side and a goatee. He was wearing a black do-rag under a black baseball cap, a black long-sleeve shirt under a black short-sleeve t-shirt, baggy black sweatpants and white Nike sneakers with black laces.
