Atlantic County Teacher Charged for Inappropriate Relationships with Students

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ – A Galloway Township man was arrested and charged for having multiple inappropriate relationships with students at the Atlantic County Institute of Technology where he works as a teacher.

Peter Thompson, 51, was arrested after investigating after the incidents were reported to the Galloway Township Police Department and Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office in early 2022 by staff at ACIT.

“Subsequently, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, along with the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Office, began an investigation which uncovered multiple complaints from other students at the school,” the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said today. “As a result of the investigation, Thompson, who is no longer employed by ACIT, was charged with multiple counts of endangering the welfare of a child, criminal sexual contact and official misconduct.”
