TRENTON, NJ – A Trenton man has been charged in connection to an investigation of a body found inside a trash bag at home on Beatty Street in December.
David Gibson, 44, of Trenton, was charged with disturbing or desecrating human remains, tampering with evidence, and hindering.
Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said it was Gibson who placed the deceased victim inside a garbage bag and moved the bag to cancel the remains. Gibson never reported the death to police.
Gibson was evicted from the 615 Beaty Street home in November.
On December 23, the decomposed body was found in a garbage bag was located at a property in the 600 block of Beatty Street in Trenton by the landlord.
“An autopsy was performed by the Middlesex Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, and the cause and manner of the victim’s death are pending further testing. A tentative identification of the victim has been made, however that identification is pending DNA confirmation,” police said.
At this time, the cause of death is unknown.
