Alert issued after water main break in South River

by Charlie Dwyer

SOUTH RIVER, NJ – A water main break in South River is affecting the quality of water service for customers in the area. The South River Public Works is advising residents to use caution.

“Due to emergency water main break repairs taking place on Levinson Avenue, area residents may experience low water pressure and/or discolored water. In addition, residents in the immediate area may lose water service during the repair process. Repairs will begin shortly and are anticipated to be completed by 2:00 PM this afternoon,” the South River Department of Public Works said this morning.

Officials advise residents to run cold water for several minutes as well as flushing toilets once or twice to try to clear up any discoloration.
