WASHINGTON, D.C. – An arrest has been made in a Friday evening carjacking in Washington, D.C., but police are still searching for a second suspect who is still at large.
On Friday, at around 5:30 pm, police reported the suspects approached the victim in the 4000 block of 8th Street, Northeast.
“One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The suspects took the victim’s vehicle keys and then both suspects fled in the victim’s vehicle,” D.C. Metro Police reported.
Then, at approximately 5:42 pm, the suspects approached another victim, who was inside their vehicle in the 4800 block of North Capitol Street, Northeast.
“One of the suspects entered the victim’s vehicle, brandished a handgun, and demanded the victim exit the vehicle,” police reported. “A struggle ensued and during the struggle, the handgun discharged striking the suspect. Both suspects then fled the scene. A handgun was recovered on the scene. The suspect was located at a local hospital receiving treatment for a gunshot wound.”
