Fatal Collision in Landover Hills Under Investigation

LANDOVER HILLS, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Wednesday evening, in Landover Hills. The deceased driver has been identified as 66-year-old Michael Ray Sr. of Hyattsville.

At approximately 5:15 pm, officers responded to the area of Annapolis Road and Cooper Lane for a crash involving two vehicles. The preliminary investigation revealed Ray was traveling eastbound on Annapolis Road, while the driver of the second vehicle was traveling westbound on Annapolis Road. Ray then attempted to turn onto Cooper Lane and was struck by the second vehicle. Ray was taken to the hospital, where he later died. Two passengers in Ray’s vehicle and the second driver suffered injuries not considered life-threatening.
