Teen among two arrested in Atlantic City shooting incident

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – Two individuals have been arrested, and a handgun has been seized by the Atlantic City Police Department following a shooting incident on Saturday. The police responded to a ShotSpotter alert at 8:42 PM in the 800 block of Indiana Avenue. Upon arriving at the scene, they saw an SUV speeding away and pulled it over at Ohio and Atlantic Avenues.

The driver of the vehicle, a 32-year-old man from Galloway, NJ, had suffered a non-fatal gunshot wound, and the car had evidence of gunfire. The victim was rushed to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center for treatment by Officers Anthony Nastasi and Tyman Gordy.

Upon searching the vehicle, the officers discovered a loaded handgun, arresting a 36-year-old female passenger from Atlantic City, Alicia Gillard.

As part of the ongoing investigation into the weapon, a 17-year-old male from Mays Landing, NJ, was also taken into custody. His name was not released.
