NYC schools guidance counselor charged with assault and harassment

NEW YORK, NY – A New York City public schools guidance counselor was arrested and charged with harassment and assault early Monday morning.

According to a release issued by the New York City Police Department, 47-year-old Selacy Chimilio was arrested by 25th Precinct officers in East Harlem at around midnight on Monday.

She was charged with assault and harassment. She works for the New York City Department of Education, according to the NYPD.

No further details were released by the NYPD, and the charges occurred while she was off-duty, the department noted. This report is merely a charge filed by police and Chimilio is presumed innocent unless found guilty in a court of law.
