COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Division of Police has teamed up with Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein to close down illegal after-hours clubs operating in the city.
On Friday, officers from the PACT Unit and IN/TAC Unit executed a search warrant at the Smoke Shop and Hookah Lounge located in the 2400 block of East Dublin Granville Road in the early morning hours. The location was discovered to be operating as an illegal after-hours club between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.
Detectives on the scene seized multiple firearms, drugs, and dozens of bottles of alcohol, along with audio and lighting equipment. The crackdown on illegal after-hours clubs comes after several violent crimes were reported at similar locations throughout Columbus.
Both the Columbus Division of Police and the Columbus City Attorney’s Office are committed to reducing crime in the city by investigating and prosecuting these illegal businesses.
