Queens man arrested for robbing 81-year-old bank teller

Police in New York City have arrested and charged a 54-year-old man in connection with the robbery of an elderly woman working as a bank teller in Queens.

Gerald Derosse was taken into custody on Tuesday by officers of the 84th Precinct. He faces charges of robbery and an unclassified US Code.

Derosse was identified as the male suspect involved in a bank robbery on April 6.

According to police, he approached an 81-year-old woman from behind at the Ridgewood Savings Bank on Myrtle Avenue and put her in a chokehold while demanding money from the bank teller.

He fled the location on foot with approximately $205. The victim sustained minor injuries. The suspect is described as a 40-year-old male with a light complexion, standing at 5’9″ and weighing 200 pounds.
