NEW YORK CITY – On Saturday, a carjacking occurred in Brooklyn near Nostrand Avenue and Avenue Y, within the 61 Precinct’s jurisdiction.
The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the male suspect involved in the incident.
According to police, the suspect entered the unoccupied driver’s side of a 30-year-old male victim’s vehicle while a 22-year-old female was seated in the passenger seat.
The suspect initially held on to the female victim and then pushed her out of the vehicle as she tried to escape. The suspect fled the scene with the victim’s vehicle, leaving the injured female behind.
Emergency Medical Services transported the female victim to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained during the incident. The suspect is described as a male in his early 30s, weighing between 150-160 pounds, and last seen wearing a gray sweater, dark pants, and white sneakers.
