16-Year-Old Charged With Shooting Man Multiple Times

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect in a shooting that occurred in Northeast D.C. on February 25th.

Shortly before 9 pm on February 25th, officers were dispatched to the 4400 block of Quarles Street in response to a shooting. Upon arrival, they found an adult male who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was critically injured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

After a thorough investigation, detectives arrested 16-year-old Antron Belk, a D.C. resident, in connection with the shooting. Belk was charged as an adult. The police have not released any details about a possible motive for the shooting or how Belk was identified as a suspect.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
