BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ – On April 3, a brush fire was reported near Louis Ave in Berkeley Township. Patrolman Alex Houle was the first to respond to the scene, where he was met by members of Bayville Fire Department Station 17 and NJ Forest Fire Services already working to extinguish the fire.

Detective William Somers also arrived to provide assistance.

The fire was confined to a small section of wooded area on the south side of the roadway, with no homes or residents in the vicinity.

No injuries were reported, and the fire was successfully extinguished. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the NJ Forest Fire Services, who will determine if any further action is necessary.
