MINEOLA, NY – Susannah Smith, a 22-year-old Sea Cliff resident, has been recently indicted on multiple charges for allegedly causing the death of motorcyclist Milton Diaz in June 2022.

According to Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly, Smith was both drunk and texting when her car veered off the road and struck a utility pole.

This accident led to the death of 34-year-old Diaz, who unknowingly drove through the darkened crash scene and struck the downed power lines.

If convicted of the top charge, Smith could face a prison sentence ranging from five to 15 years.
