35-Year-Old Woman Dead In D.C. Shooting, Suspect Arrested

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A shooting early this morning left a 35-year-old woman dead in Northwest, D.C. The incident happened at the 1400 Block of Fairmont Street. The Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department has announced that they have made an arrest in the homicide.

Just before 1:30 am, officers arrived at the location to investigate a report of a shooting. Police found 35-year-old Tierra Corbett of D.C. suffering from a gunshot wound to her head. Corbett was pronounced dead at the scene.

Shortly after the incident, police put out a description of the suspect, ” Lookout for Dark Complexion unknown gender, wearing a blue shirt and grey sweatpants.”

Early this morning, detectives arrested 31-year-old LaRhonda Stewart of D.C. and charged her with second-degree murder. During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that the victim and the suspect knew each other.
